UC Davis Students Protest Fee Hike


Nicki Sun Reporting AggieTV was fortunate enough to film footage from the inside of Mrak Hall before the doors closed during the 32% fee increase protest. From 4pm-9:47pm, when a total of 52 students were arrested [confirmed by Public Information Officer] thus ending the protest (FOR NOW!), students remained non-aggressive and peaceful. This video reveals what actually happened while inside Mrak as well as giving voice to students. The fight on fee increases continues Friday, November 20th on the Quad at 11am in addition to a discussion with university personal from 12-2pm in ARC Ballroom B.     @CarmichaelPete I’m only half Scottish but I consider myself more English then Scottish since I was born in England. BTW I have complete and utterly solidarity and hope for all the People of Northren Ireland Protestants and Catholics to come together and put they recent history and fights behind them. We the Indgenious peoples of the Isles of Great Britan and Ireland should be united period. Past sectrain statements I made was in the heat of debates and I aplogized for that. Good night Aggie.

    Well for me its just going to amount to even more debt I have to pay off, yippee. I already log a good 70 hours a week between study and in class time. That does not even include my research position and tutoring hours. So tell me how am I expected to “get a job” when im already logging twice the hours of you 9-5 chumps. Maybe you should stfu about how you work so hard and gain some perspective. Its easy to rag on college kids when you lack the exp. of college.

    @kornfreakpeaches lmao.. i wish my parents were rich.. if they were maybe i wouldn’t have had to struggle to get where i am.. no evictions, no borrowing money from relatives, no fake deposits into the atm just to get money to eat.. nope i’ve lived a hard life but i don’t complain about it.. it made me stronger it made me a survivor.. as for college.. i didn’t go.. i make more money now than my friends who graduated from college.. but your assumption that i am rich is a compliment

    lol, fine if you insist. But I do go to a college called EMU, it is a joke of a university. So your right in some sense, it is very “clownish”. But o well, some of us can’t afford Colleges, that “mommy and daddy” pays for out of their yacht insurance like you.

    @kornfreakpeaches its funny how you ask me about my knowledge of the clip.. because i could ask you the same thing.. i live in sacramento, i know people who go to ucd, i watch the the local news.. if there was any brutality during their protest it definitely would’ve been reported on.. its probably better that you quit while you’re behind because you’re gonna do nothin but make yourselg look a lil more ignorant.. you make it hard to believe YOU’RE in college.. clown college maybe..
